Short History of England

Short History of England is Gilbert Keith Chesterton's attempt to bring to light some of the more obscure parts of England's history while retelling the basics. Starting back in history when Britain was but a province, Chesterton leads the reader through the age of barbarians, the Norman kings, the Crusades, the French Wars, and the turmoil within British society with glimpses of things you may not have known. There are chapters on the Whigs, the Puritans, as well as modern times. It is evident this English author is proud of his country as he recounts its storied past.
