Foxe's Book of Martyrs

by John Foxe

Summary

Foxe's Book of Martyrs was written by John Foxe and published in 1563, had gone through many editions and revisions. Foxe chronicled the Catholic Church's harsh treatment of protestant believers. The faith and courage of the martyrs is recorded here for history. These accounts both inspired others to remain faithful to their convictions and incited many against the actions of the Catholic Church. The accounts of the martyrs are amazing accounts of what people endured and even died for rather than recant their trust in their Salvation through Jesus Christ.
