Tracts for the Times

by John Henry Newman

Summary

Tracts for the Times is a collection of 90 publications dealing with a wide variety of theological issues. Many authors shared their insights through this series; however, John Henry Newman wrote the majority of them. Published between 1833 and 1841, many reflected the doctrinal views of the English Oxford Movement. Relatively inexpensive and short reads, these tracts were a valuable tool for the spread of the Oxford Movement's ideas.
