The Easter Bunny and other secular/pagan Easter practices

Just who is this Easter Bunny? Where did he come from? How did he get into Christ's resurrection? Should Christian's participate? What other secular/pagan Easter practices are in Christ's Resurrection? For discussions on the Resurrection of Christ then please use the Passover thread.

I agree - the Easter Bunny has nothing to do with Easter - It interests me that whilst Muslims stand no nonsense when anyone dares to "say anything skew" about Islam they get really angry and say so - whilst Christians let any one say anything. Could it be that Christianity doesnt need defending! Especially not against fluffy bunnies!
The egg however does have a history as it takes an important place on the sedar plate of the Jewish Passover. Symbolising new life. So perhaps we can get away with eating chocholate eggs and the egg hunt. During the Passover feast the children search for the afikoman (not sure about the spelling!)and the disciples looked for the body of Jesus - A bit of a stretch!
